Dressing Up

There is actually a class at Notre Dame University called "A Nation of Slobs".

Here is a CBS News article that covers it.

An excerpt from the article:

"There was a time when a woman really made an entrance! Remember? Skirts swished, heads turned . . . and it wasn't for a red carpet event, either.

It was for dinner, or going shopping.

What happened?

These days, anything goes. Shorts and flip-flops are fine for any occasion. And so are pajamas.

"Dressing up? A quaint and bygone custom.

Have we become a nation of slobs?"

Do you agree?  Read the rest of the article here:

  1. Totally agree with this article. We seem to have lost our sense of style as a nation. We are kind of all over the place with what should be acceptable dress in different occasions. It is sad to see the downward trend of dress in our churches. Think about it-we are going to meet our Lord and worship Him and we wear shorts and flip flops like we are going to the backyard barbeque. When we were young we had play clothes, school clothes, church clothes, and dress up clothes. We need to get back to teaching our children the value of dressing well.
