Color Me Beautiful

I am going to share one of my favorite secrets with you friends of The Catholic Lady Blog and that secret is something I learned from a book my friend gave me many years ago.  It is called...

If you have never heard about the four seasons analysis system, you need to read on.  It is amazing and fascinating!

According to Carole Jackson, there are four basic color palettes.  You best colors can be determined based on your skin tone, hair and eye color.  Everyone has either a cool skin tone with blue undertones (Winter or Summer) or a warm skin tone with yellow undertones (Spring or Winter).  Some look best in vivid colors (Winter or Autumn) or soft colors (Spring or Summer).  The cool seasons can wear silver jewelry and cool toned clear blue toned colors and the warm seasons look best in gold, brown and warm beige based colors.  The book and ideas presented are extremely fascinating!  I was analyzed by a color specialist (who happens to be the grandmother of one of my best friends) a few years ago and I am a Winter!  Here are my colors:

Ever since I found out my colors, shopping and choosing outfits, shoes, jewelry, makeup and accessories has become much easier and a lot more fun!  I have my colors which eliminates some options and help me determine what suits me best.  Carole Jackson, the author of Color Me Beautiful, says that choosing hair color is much easier when you know your season for women who dye their hair.  I can just imagine!

My sister is a Spring and she looks best in these colors:

Here is a good example of four different Seasons:

Have you had your colors analyzed and if so, what Season are you?

  1. This is true! My friend and I did a science fair project in school based on this book. I am autumn and do tend to feel better in my "colors." It was fun to see this book mentioned again. :-)

  2. I hear about this book a lot - I wonder why it's no longer popular. I have no idea what season I am, but I'm pretty sure my skin is "cool" while my hair is "warm"....what do you do in that case?

    2. Christine, I'm pretty sure you are a warm either Spring or Autumn from seeing you in different colors. You looked beautiful in that coral dress you wore on Easter. Do you look better in browns and greens or warm pinks/purple/yellows?

    3. I look best in browns and greens, and yellow but more when it's mustard-y than lemon-y :-)

  3. I've had them done twice, because one lady says I'm a spring and another, summer. I tend to wear more 'summer' colors now that I'm older. It really does work when you wear the right colors, and I especially like their makeup.
