A Good Article

WASHINGTON, D.C., October 17, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) — A nationally recognized pediatrician offered a jolting reality check about the dangers of encouraging children to think they are transgender and prescribing hormone blockers to prevent them from developing.
On October 11, the Heritage Foundation sponsored a forum on transgenderism at which Dr. Michelle Cretella said it is child abuse to facilitate gender confusion in children by helping them “transition” to the opposite sex.
“Chemical castration is what you’re doing when you put any biologically normal child on puberty blockers,” said Cretella, the president of the American College of Pediatricians. “It’s treating puberty like a disease, arresting a normal process which is critical to normal development.”
The doctor’s truth crusade did not stop there. “Sterilization is not good for kids,” she flatly stated. “Prepping them for what will likely result in a case in girls of a double mastectomy at 16 is not how you treat depression or anxiety.”
She added that she speaks from a great deal of personal experience in “treating teenagers with depression, anxiety, even suicidal depression.”

This is what I wore yesterday.  The sweater is the same as last week, but I wore it again since I really like the purple color for Fall and it's easy to coordinate too.  We spent the weekend relaxing, attended a birthday party Saturday evening.  Sunday was early Mass and catechism again!  I had to include the picture with Tom because it turned out so sweet!  The children were all in a silly mood which has been happening often lately, I'm trying to tame it.  Let me know if you have any ideas please after cutting out all the sugar.

I'M WEARING:
Skirt- I made!
Sweater- Same as last week, from my sister!
Scarf- Folk Festival

Are You Having a Rosary Rally?

Our May 2017 Rosary Rally at which Our Lady blessed us with many attendees!

For the past years my husband and I have organized a Rosary Rally for America Needs Fatima here in our region of Pittsburgh.  It's not always huge but it's always successful.  Our Lady sees to that!  This year on October 14th, there will be over 20,000 rallies held across the country!  Catholics will come together to pray on the 100th anniversary of Fatima at this critical time in history.  We will pray in reparation for the many blasphemies and sins committed, for the conversion of sinners and for the salvation of souls, and for the coming of the reign of Mary.  It is always an amazing, grace filled event.  And it's not something you want to miss out on!  So please visit the link below and find a rally taking place this Saturday near you!  It's not too late!

Elegant Fashion: Wraps and Shawls

Hi Ladies!

I have an elegant fashion tip to share with you today.  I fell in love with shawls years ago when I discovered lace knitting and found some patterns for lace knitted shawls and wraps.  They really embody the feminine spirit of warmth and delicacy which we all admire.  Shawls and wraps (and capes and scarfs too) are just so timelessly classy; they are a great style for The Catholic Lady.  So I've collected these beautiful examples below to share with you all.  I hope they fill you with inspiration as they did for me!

This beautiful lace shawl is sold for brides, but I would wear this regularly for any formal occasion!  There are lots more stunning wraps available on etsy too.

This boiled wool cape looks pretty and practical for those who want to be nicely dressed in cold weather.

This Celtic cabled shawl is handmade in North Carolina from alpaca wool; it's also available at an etsy shop!

I especially love the folded collar on this Adrianna Papell satin wrap.

The Vermont Country Store offers this silk blend paisley wrap that can also be worn as a stylish scarf.

This list would not be complete without an elegant, cozy Irish wool cape.

This Coach Signature Silk Scarf adds the perfect feminine touch to an evening ensemble.  Also, what a gorgeous soft pink color!

If you admire beautiful vintage Russian shawls, there are some being sold on etsy.  I have seen Slavic style shawls like these at thrift stores too and at my Grandma's house!

Certainly this evening wrap would add a touch of class- not to mention warmth- to an evening concert or late dinner.

THANKS FOR VISITING!!
Have you ladies ever worn a scarf or wrap and do you have any tips?

A Weekend In Feminine Dress: Fall is Here!

Welcome to A Weekend In Feminine Dress on The Catholic Lady Blog.  Every Monday I post pictures of myself or a volunteer wearing a modest, feminine outfit including where it was purchased in order to encourage the apostolate of feminine dress.  If you would like to submit your photos, please contact me at: thecatholiclady@gmail.com.  Thank you!

The Fall weather came this weekend and is gone again today.  But we embraced it and enjoyed it and can't wait for it to come back!  Saturday we went to a Fall festival down at the park and Sunday we just played outside lots.  I'm adding some pictures from the week too.

Here is what we wore:

I'M WEARING:

Dress- Second-hand
Sweater- My Sister
Shoes- Consignment

BEATRICE'S DRESS:

Hartstrings
Sweater is Gap

BECKY'S DRESS:

Janie and Jack (Second-hand!)

Definitely no words needed!

We did this and they love it!  Except Thomas found out he gets motion sickness which is sad!

We've been enjoying some football outside lately and no one really misses the Steelers either.

At least we have one good worker around here.

The airplane baby is always adorable.

Does anyone else LOVE Thomas trains?  They are incredibly popular around here. :)
